We bought plugs for our PWC at Pepboys and now it's running kind of rough. Can you buy spark plugs for a seadoo at a auto parts store?
Its best to run a good brand name plug in your PWC. I would suggest either NGK or Bosh spark plugs. Make sure you run the proper type plug according to your owners manual. If you do not have a owners manual most parts stores can look it up for you.
Some other things to try is add some gas additive to it called Sea Foam. About an ounce or two per gallon of gas.Can you buy spark plugs for a seadoo at a auto parts store?
As long as you buy the proper plug, meaning the number of the plug is the exact number as the one you took out, or the one described in the owners manual AND you gap it properly, it matters not where you purchase it.
Did you gap the plug before you installed it? If you didn't you need to. Too close a gap will make starting easier in some cases, but will make it run rough at higher speeds. Too wide a gap will make for hard starting and bad idling. Read the owners manual for the proper gap. If you don't have a tool to gap the plugs, ask someone to gap them for you or buy a gap tool. They only cost a few dollars and last a lifetime! Gapping is simple. Simply spread or close the electrode toward the plug tip until the proper gap is reached. Be careful not to bend the electrode back and forth too much or it may break, or be weakened so much it will fail and fall in the cylinder.
Good luck and safe boating!
