What will they ask me at the Auto Parts Store when I buy a Serpentine belt?

I bought an old, beat up, pick-up truck from our shop a few weeks ago and have not really had time to check it's specs or anything. I know that it is a Dodge Ram 1500, 1999. What info will I need when i get the belt,.... engine size, of course, what else? What will they ask me at the Auto Parts Store when I buy a Serpentine belt?
year -make -model- engine- air- auto or stick-if you can just drive truck there

If you really want to be sure you will get an exact replacement, better take out the existing belt and bring it to the parts store.
With or without A/C might make a difference in the belt. You can take the old one in for comparison. Make a routing map

The specs. will be surely written on the old existing belt what you have.

if the belt is worn out completely that you could not see the specs. at all, then instead of measuring the engine size, first of all find out the engine make and its capacity which will be embosed on a plate on the engine. you may note down the details and trace out in the market with the auto parts dealer.

PS: before going to an authorised auto parts dealer, you may try out the availability of the belt with the belts dealer as the cost factor varies at both places
assuming the motor is stock, and not a different size than the original, then here are the only things you have to tell them:

year, make, model - and whether it has any extra accessories that run off the motor (i think air conditioning would be the only extra, but i would be surprised if your '99 didn't have that)

give them those 3 things and they have a parts book which will reference the correct belt.
year, make, model %26amp; VIN#. sometimes the VIN# will determine which parts you need.
take the old belt with you if you can and if not they will ask you what year the truck is and what size engine is in it.
